PM-
Thanks for all of the work you put into your website. Can you explain the closed toralua in more detail? In Leaving Lochboisdale is played like a grip? To me it looks more like a burl.
thanks again-

Closed Taorluath

Thank you Russell for your appreciation. The taorluath is simply the basic that i at time demostrate slightly slowly in the video and sound file to show the need for good strength in that embellishment. I cannot find out why you might confuse it for a grip or birl, espcially as all the taorluaths are on B while a birl is always sounded on low A. The speed of the taorlauth a played is quite strong if anything compared with many pipers who make it too light and might cause some confusion as to the execution of the movement.

I feel that you might not be sufficeintly dveleoped in your technique etc., to recognise a taorluath as normally played. If desired, please contact me via my website contact form and I'll discuss the taorluath in more detail for you with illustrations.
Best wishes,
Bill
