Greetings from Chicago

Dear Bill.

I can't thank you enough for your work. My ancestors came over during the Highland clearances - all Camerons and MacDonnells of Glengarry. Since then, no one in my family was allowed to speak English on Sundays until my generation, since it was not considered worthy of the Day of the Lord. Needless to say, pipes were always important in my family.

I began piping when I was 12, and my work prohibited serious dedication over these last years. Now, I'm getting back to the pipes in a big way and just began solo competition agai after being away for a long time.

I'm tackling my first piobaireachd in competition this summer. Your monthly emails are a great motivation and your teaching style is winning, making it accessible to everyone. Thanks so much.

Be assured of my prayers for you and your family.

I am pleased to help in the Art, Cliff.
Make sure you have a well balanced good steady sound especially in Piobaireachd which should be generally song-like in your approach without dragging. There are some Piobaireachd tutorials in our main page link "Bagpipe tunes".
All the best,
Bill
