Lament For The Laird Of AnnapoolThis lament, composed by Iain Dall MacKay, is recognized as comparable in quality to his Lament for Donald Duaghal MacKay and Lament for Padruig Og MacCrimmon. These three tunes were probably composed in the period 1700 – 1730. Iain was born in 1656 and died in 1754. Iain Dall was second cousin to the Laird of Annapool, Donald MacKay. MacKay had become the laird by virtue of his marriage to Marion Munro of Arnabol. Annapool is recognized as a corrupted version of Arnapol.
