I have had some trouble with this topic and did in fact split my ABW pipe chanter. It broke my heart. Not bad enough was the damage done to my pipe chanter but the expence in purchasing a new one was also a heartbrake in itself. Had I known your little technique I might have caused me less of a heartbrake.

Now I will know just how your little simple way of doing the loosing trick I am sure that I will have a lot less trouble and even spare my pipe chanter from a foos strong handed death. It is nice to know that the master is always there to help us out.
