My drones are having issues

by Max
(Canada)

Im a beginner piper, but when I blow my pipes my drones cut out by the time I'm pushing hard enough for my chanter to start, its either one or the other, I either dont push and breathe hard enough to make my chanter sound but then I get my drones, or I push harder and get a chanter noise but my drones blow out, what do I do?

My drones are having issues

Hello Max,
It is obvious that your teacher or whoever has not set your drone reeds properly to match the reasonably easy chanter strength of your chanter, as for a beginners.

Help in the video, and text is available on my website, left of the main page in Bagpipe Articles, tuning etc., for beginners first up commencing to play the pipes in three stages etc. I would like to know how helpful it was when applied properly as directed and demonstrated.

All the best,

Bill R
