Hello pipe-major I started playing in fife had my first lesson on my 8th birthday.I left scotland and came down to england as a 20yr old did not play for another 20years started again and I am now 61.The way you teach brings back good memories nice to listen to the way you tutor wish I had found your site sooner.I am still not as good as when I played in scotland but with your help who knows

Thank you Stuart for your kind comments on my helpful material. I hope you keep enjoying to improve, and with it pay attention to clean/clear execution of that very imprtant first grace note whether singly or in doublings, and certain cuttings etc. Good tone also importand.

Perseverence Pays Off

That's the spirit Stuart, keep playing. I'm in pretty much the same situation as you, only I started playing at age 63. I'm loving it and that love drives me on to learn and practice as much as possible. My instructor seems to be very happy with my advancement. Just keep the love of the GHB and the Scots music at the forefront of you days and you will be alright.
