True or false

Hello Earl --
Very good from you. You might like to know that when on the Pipe Majors' Course, British Army, way back, we had some history that mentioned that the oldest known pipe scale was found in Damascus over 2000 years ago, showing that the Middle East comes into it.
Regards,

Bill

bagpipe origins
by: The Earl of Skirl

It is thought by most that bagpies of a simple nature have their origin in North africa in particular Egypt. They eventually migrated through southern Europe with the Roman legions and settled in Great Britain. After an "evolutionary" process they evolved into the Great Highland Bagpipes we know today. Their cousins, in various forms, can be found throughout the Middle East, Europe Greece and all of Great BritainIt's a short story but is based on 3000 years of evolution.

Hello Colin,
I would say "false" for such a silly question.
Bgapipeswere and are made in Pakistan, mostly not very good. All of what you ask seems to be unfounded I feel.
Regards,

Bill
