This Is My Story ...I started building bagpipe-tutorials.com for Bill in June 2007. At the time I new nothing about how to build a website or, HTML, internet keywords, SEO, meta tag optimization, etc. In fact I held off creating this web site for quiet some time. I thought that I needed to learn all about web site programming and learn all the technical stuff required for one to know how to build a website, how wrong was I!About Greg ...Formally from South Africa, I emigrated to New Zealand in 2001. For most of my youth I grew up in a small country town called Kokstad and finished my schooling at Weston Agricultural College in 1977. On completion of my 2 years military service with 1 Parachute Battalion and because I have an agricultural background I started working in the farming and commercial forestry industries.During this time I met and married the love of my life Lyn. We are now the proud parents to four handsome young men. At present no daughter-in-laws and no grandchildren, darn! A number of years later I changed career direction and started working in sales. The truth be known I was never really all that comfortable with the career change and one thing led to another and I ended up working in the tire industry. After about 16 years of being involved with the tire industry I have specialized in a particular area of the business, to do with Tire Management. With particular emphasis on Cost Per Kilometer (CPK) contracts and the technology used to manage and report various aspects of this niche. I am currently employed by one of the largest international tire manufacturer and distributors. My Involvement With Bagpipes ...I am sure that you are longing to ask me. Can I play the bagpipe? No I can't! I bet that shocked you. I can play the fool, only joking! However I can play the odd tune on a practice chanter and hopefully one day I will thump out a tune or two on the pipes. Make sure you are not around!I leave all the bagpipe stuff to my dear friend Bill, he is the subject matter expert for the website. I look after the website and the website building software. A New Challenge ...Often in my conversations with Bill he would express the desire to make his Bagpipe Lessons available on the internet and he wished that he could find a way to do this. I guess indirectly he was asking me to help him. Not being a website programmer I was reluctant to delve into learning a skill set required to accomplish this task. After all I was trying to learn to play the bagpipes, not build a website.Anyway I started searching the internet to see if there was a way I could help him.
