Wm Ross Pipe Major to Queen Victoria

I was wondering if Wm Ross the Queen's piper and Willie Ross the piper are related. Wm Ross (1823-1891) was my great-grandfather's step brother and I am tracing the family history and can't find a link between the two pipers but it seems they were both very well known and renowned for their piping and writing of pipe music.

Wm. Ross Pipe major to Queen Victoria

Soory for the delay in responding, Mary. Iwas glancing through the very occassional time the questions and spotted your one.
It so happens that my tune of the month for Novemeber coming up soon is for a 6/8 march Atholl Highlanders, a very old tune, by the same Pipe Major Wm. Ross, Piper to Queen Victoria. I have some information on him with the text to the tune and reference to the Weikipeadea link under William Ross Piper to Queen Victoria. ASimply enter the name etc., When finding and opening Weikepedia (spelling?)simply search under the name of Wm. Ross etc. In the information there I think saw that your Wm. Roos of the 1800s was not related to the famous Pipe Major Wm. Ross of 1900s, Director of Army Piping School etc., and famous soloist, composer and compiler of his five music books.
I trust this helps.
Best wishes,
Bill
